Marjorie phones your mum for a proper chat,
so she's never truly on her own.

A warm, friendly voice that rings at her rhythm — every other day, or every day if she'd like — remembers what matters to her, notices when something's not right, and keeps you in the loop. On the phone she already has. No gadgets, no apps for her, nothing to learn.

For everyone who can't call every day — but wishes they could.

940,000 older people in the UK are often lonely. Nearly half of over-75s who live alone feel lonely most of the time. A weekly visit isn't enough — but real, regular companionship has never existed at a price families can manage. Until now.

How Marjorie works

1

You introduce her

Start with the Memory Book: tell Marjorie about your mum's life — the names that matter, the places, the stories, what she loves talking about (and what to steer past). Marjorie arrives at the very first call already knowing her — not starting from scratch. Some families tell us filling it in together is the first gift.

2

A proper call, at her rhythm

Every other day — or every day, if she'd like — the phone rings at her chosen time and it's Marjorie, for a real conversation. The news, the grandchildren, the garden, the old days. She remembers it all and picks up where they left off. A good conversation needs something to catch up on.

3

A gentle eye kept

Marjorie notices what a good carer notices — confusion, low mood, feeling unwell, calls going unanswered — following checks designed with carers and care managers from six decades of family care.

4

You stay in control

The Sunday Letter — a short note to your phone each week on how she's really doing — and instant alerts when something doesn't seem right — so you're aware, without being alarmed. You decide what Marjorie tells you about, and how. It's your family's system: you set it up, you tune it, you're in charge.

What Marjorie gives you both

For her

Something to look forward to. A voice that remembers the grandchildren's names, asks how the garden's doing, and never tires of the old stories.

Not a check-up. Not a duty call. Real company, at her rhythm — not just when someone can visit.

For you

The end of the low hum of worry. You'll know how she's really doing — not how she says she is on Sunday.

And something subtler: you can ring her because you want to, not because you're checking. Marjorie does the checking. You get to just be her family again.

Why "Marjorie"?

Marjorie was my grandmother. In 1962, her younger sister founded what is today the UK's largest independently owned, family-run live-in care company — caring for hundreds of people in their own homes every year, for 64 years. Tens of thousands of clients; hundreds of thousands of family members who slept easier. I grew up in that world, and I've spent my career in it.

Companionship used to be part of what care meant. Somewhere along the way it became a luxury few families could afford. Marjorie Calling exists to bring it back — for everyone with a phone.

— Matt, founder

What Marjorie actually is — honestly

Marjorie is artificial intelligence. We say that plainly, because honesty is where care starts.

But there is nothing off-the-shelf about her. Marjorie is built by a family with 64 years of care behind it — every conversation she has, every concern she raises, every check she makes follows protocols designed with real carers and care managers.

And one thing she is not: an emergency service — and she will never claim to be. Marjorie is company, and a gentle eye. For emergencies, nothing replaces people.

The technology is the world's best. The judgment behind it is ours.

Care first. Always.

"I tested the early version expecting to wince. Instead I talked for twenty minutes and forgot I was the one who commissioned her."— Matt, founder

"Mum lights up when she talks about her morning chat. And I've stopped feeling that knot in my stomach when I can't ring her."— the peace of mind we're building Marjorie Calling to deliver

Already have an alarm, or a smartwatch? Good.

Keep it — that's the emergency covered: the fall, the button, the alert. Marjorie is for all the ordinary days.

A smartwatch can tell you her heart is beating. It can't tell you she's lonely — or that she's stopped mentioning the garden, or that today she didn't sound quite herself. Wellbeing shows up in conversation long before it shows up on a sensor, and catching it there is how small worries stay small.

The alarm is for the worst day. Marjorie is for all the others.
